Jonathan Hinton - Director of Bands
Mr. Hinton currently serves as the Director of Bands at Brown Middle School. Mr. Hinton previously taught at Fort Worth Country Day school in Fort Worth, as well as in Northwest, Waxahachie, and Grand Prairie ISDs. His bands have consistently earned superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest as well as Best in Class at numerous other events. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Music degree from Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Hinton is an active performer (tenor and bass trombone) and clinician in the DFW Metroplex, and is a member of the Irving Symphony Orchestra. He is a regular performer with the Plano Symphony, DFW Brass, InsideOut Band, the Craig Parker Elvis Experience, and has performed with both the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, Hans Zimmer, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, The Roots, Celtic Thunder and Ray Charles.
He currently lives in Arlington, and is a huge Star Wars fan and dad to his two daughters Grace and Emily. His professional affiliations include TMEA, TBA, and American Federation of Musicians.
Jesse Rajabi - Assistant Director of Bands
Mr. Rajabi is a graduate of Texas Christian University. He graduated with his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2015. As an undergraduate student, Mr. Rajabi studied trumpet with Dr. Jon Burgess. He has performed with both Mr. Joey Carter’s and Mr. Joe Eckert’s jazz ensembles, Mr. Brian Youngblood’s and Mr. Bobby Francis’s wind bands, and the TCU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Germán Gutiérrez. Additionally, he has performed at the Texas Music Educators Association, the College Band Directors National Association, and International Trumpet Guild conferences.
Mr. Rajabi recently completed his Master of Music Education degree at TCU, having studied primarily with Dr. Sheri Neill and Dr. Laura Singletary. He also served as a member of the Horned Frog Band staff. Prior to beginning his graduate assistantship at TCU, he served as a public school band director for two years in his hometown of Grand Prairie ISD. While at TCU, he served as a guest conductor for the TCU Symphonic Band and the TCU Trumpet Studio, with whom he performed at the International Trumpet Guild conference in the summer of 2018. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the International Trumpet Guild. Mr. Rajabi was the conductor of the Dallas Brass Band for the 2018-2019 performance season.
